Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Close on the heels of conversion row in Agra, the Bajrang Dal-an RSS offshoot- is set to launch ‘Bahu Lao-Beti Bachao’ campaign from February 15 next year.
The campaign, as claimed by the proponents, is a counter to ‘Love Jihad’ and aims at bringing in daughters from other communities--Christians and Muslims--as daughters-in-law in Hindu households.
‘We know how Hindu girls are being converted to other religions and ‘Love Jihad’ is a strong tactic for the same. Over a period of one year nearly one lakh Hindu girls have been converted to other faiths,” Ajju Chauhan state convener of Bajranj Dal told newsmen here. The idea behind the ‘Bahu Lao-Beti Bachao’ campaign was to stop conversions of Hindu girls to other faiths.
“While Hindu girls get married in other faiths, we have failed to bring in daughters from other communities. We want to change this and encourage Hindus bringing in daughter-in-laws from other communities including Muslims and Christians,” he said adding that it would be an answer to ‘Love Jihad’.
Incidentally, Chauhan was one of the persons behind the alleged forced conversion 57 Muslim families in Agra.
