Hyderabad:
AeSI
and AIAA sign a pact to collaborate in research and development,
academic exchange programmes and explore ideas on aerospace and
aeronautics.
In an attempt to attract aerospace industry and cutting
edge research in aeronautics and aerospace, the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Monday rolled-out red carpet to the industry
representatives and scientific community.
In an
interactive meeting between representatives from aerospace industry,
researchers from defence institutions, academicians and delegates from
the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Chief
Secretaries from both the States maintained that all possible support
would be provided to encourage the sector to flourish.
“Hyderabad
already has a robust aerospace industry ecosystem and the government
research organisations. We have a 30-day industry clearance system in
our new industrial policy. If the industry is of bigger scale, we can give the green light for the project in 15 days, which is not even
possible in Singapore. We are here to welcome you,” said Special Chief Secretary, Telangana, K. Pradeep Chandra said.
To
collaborate in research and development, academic exchange programmes
and explore ideas on aerospace and aeronautics, a MoU was signed between
Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) and AIAA.
Chief Secretary, AP, I.Y.R. Krishna Rao said that the Government of Andhra
Pradesh was keen in seeking partnerships with aerospace industry.
“We
are coming up with industry hubs at strategic locations, which are
close to all the top South Indian cities. This will be of great
advantage for research and development institutions,” Mr. Krishna Rao
said.
“Indian aerospace industry has strong academic
base, skilled and trained manpower, enough knowledge base and technical
ability to take up production quickly. Through this MoU, both AeSI and AIAA would gain a lot through co-operation in academics, research and
development, industrial and design collaboration,” said Director, Research Centre Imarat, Hyderabad, G. Sateesh Reddy.
Top scientists, researchers, industrial representatives from aerospace, academicians and representatives from AIAA were present.
