Hyderabad Metro Rail project-affected property owners to get compensation.

Hyderabad: In a major relief to property owners who had lost their land for road widening for the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the Land Acquisition Officer (LAO) of the city to determine the compensation in accordance with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, for cases where the compensation was determined after January 1, 2014.
The order came after Justice P. Naveen Rao allowed a batch of petitions by property holders challenging the award passed by the LAO of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project in accordance with the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act 1894.
